FlyteComm Surface Logistics™ takes data from 9-1-1 Emergency Communication Center computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and displays an integrated view of incidents, units, apparatus personnel and availability.

For Public Safety Access Points (PSAPs) and counties that want to share resources, this innovative new tool improves mutual-aid coordination and speeds incident and emergency response. The Surface Logistics application displays text information graphically on a PC. It provides seamless spatial awareness of neighboring PSAP and county status and equipment for mutual-aid, to help assure that the most appropriate units with the fastest response time are dispatched to an incident.

SITUATIONAL AWARENESS AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Dispatchers, responders, and decision makers in the field get information that is updated every 25 seconds. For the first time, command and management have a real-time multi-jurisdictional view of incidents and resources. The display shows at a glance whether a fire station is manned or unmanned and if it operates full-time or part-time. The user can also see the number of personnel, as well as the status and availability of units and apparatus. Incident managers can ensure that the best resource is dispatched to an incident; and that no area is left without fire protection.

SURFACE DISPATCH ASSISTS EVERY INCIDENT TEAM MEMBER
Dispatchers: Surface Logistics automatically keeps all of the public safety stakeholders in sync. Team members have access to current information in the field, reducing the need for Dispatch to update members individually. Fire Chiefs: Surface Logistics helps with Resource Management and Decision Support by providing the real-time location and status of every incident, unit and piece of apparatus. Field Unit Managers: Surface Logistics helps the Dispatcher and Field Units improve response time and assure that the “best” responder and equipment are dispatched to an incident. Developed in partnership with Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency (WCCCA), Surface Logistics extends technology now in use at Federal Law Enforcement agencies and applies it to local fire suppression and resource management. This new service meets the National Incident Management System (NIMS) directive for multi-jurisdictional “resource management, inventorying, mobilizing, dispatching, tracking and recovering resources over the life cycle of an incident.”

SET-UP
Surface Logistics is a hosted service that lets PSAPs share information without installing server software, a significant factor in cost-effectiveness. No software purchase is required, and no server hardware needs to be purchased and maintained, making the service an ideal solution for agencies with busy technical staff .

To get started, PSAPs need to:

• Establish a data feed from the CAD system to the FlyteComm service
• Apply the business rules that determine information displayed
• Train the users of the service

FlyteComm monitors and supports Surface Logistics on a 24/7 basis and also manages all upgrades and maintenance.

CUSTOM VIEWS
The Surface Logistics graphical interface is designed to reduce visual clutter. Users can customize their individual view of the graphical interface for even faster comprehension and action.

SITE AND APPLICATION SECURITY
FlyteComm’s data, application, and site security meet the requirements demanded by its Federal Law Enforcement customers. When appropriate, specific information is available.

USER SECURITY
Users log on to Surface Logistics using RSA ID, an encrypted interface. Data access is controlled by the user’s access rights, which are established by the PSAP administrator. Modern password protection practices follow NIST recommended standards and policies.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Surface Logistics is accessible from any Internet –connected Windows PC running Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.
